Lippstadt, 19 March 2018 – At the end of last year, the three partners Hella, University of Hamm-Lippstadt and HBPO announced a joint new building project in Rixbecker Straße.
Last week, a jury of nine decided which of the architects’ suggestions is to be implemented. The winning draft comes from the office Rinsdorf Ströcker Architekten GmbH in Lippstadt. The second prize also goes to an office in Lippstadt: ELING Architekten.
The jurors had a choice between 14 anonymised submissions which were evaluated in several stages according to certain concepts such as use and design concept. Which of the suggestions will finally be implemented will be decided following an extensive cost-benefit analysis which will now begin. The jury also voted on the name, chosen from the numerous suggestions that were put forward. The new building will be called IQ – Innovation Quartier or Innovations-Quartier. It will have a total area of 6,000 square metres and should be finished by the end of 2019/beginning of 2020.
Most of the HBPO Development Department will move into the IQ. “The concept of concentrating lots of creativity and innovations in one building had us convinced right from the word go,” says Martin Schüler, CEO & President of HBPO GmbH. “So we are very proud to be involved in this project and be able to offer our developers a perfect environment for their work.”
The move for the team is HBPO’s response to the increasing space requirements at company headquarters in the Rixbecker Straße. Despite the extension, the building is reaching its capacity limit due to the constant expansion ever since the company was founded.
