6,666,666th front-end module made in Meerane
Lippstadt/Meerane 26th June 2019 – The HBPO site in Meerane/Saxony celebrated a special event this summer with the production and delivery of the 6,666,666th front-end module. "I'm extremely proud of this team achievement", says Heiko Stengel, plant manager in Meerane.
Meerane is the first assembly site of today's world market leader for highly integrated front-end modules and therefore led the field when it came to modularising the automotive sector. The Meerane site has been supplying three customers in Zwickau, Dresden and Leipzig since 1992. Over the last 27 years, the HBPO team in Meerane has assembled front-end modules for a total of 13 different vehicles. In future, they will also be making modules for electric vehicles and for centre consoles.
